First class treatment for third class performance

The Olympic steering committee convened for the first time under the new Sports Minister last week.

He must have been surprised by some of the proposals, one of which is to grant the shuttlers the luxury of having a room each throughout their stay during the Beijing Olympics in August.

"Since they are our world-class athletes, we should provide them first-class treatment," said one of the members of the committee.

It was sensibly shot down by chef-de-mission Datuk Ho Koh Chye, who said it was against the spirit of camaraderie and esprit de corps. After all our contingent are bound by the rules and regulations of the Olympic Village.

Unless the NSC is willing to fork out their money for the benefit of a few!

A precedent had been set - rewind Athens 2004 - one VIP stayed on a cruise liner!

saudara rizal,

the only VIP who stayed on a crise liner was azalina, but come on lah, she was the sports minister and surely u can't expect her stay with the athletes in the games village, be fair lah bro. but the standing joke in the sports circles then was that when she was in athens she spent more time watching women's beach volleyball than sports where malaysians were involved in.

saudara,

sebut aje lah nama tu, we all know the only one yang duduk kat cruise liner yang u sebut tadi was azalina. tapi you pun tak adil lah bro, dia kan at that time sports minister, tak kan lah u suruh dia duduk kat games village dengan atlit2. but yang pelik skali was she spent more time watching women's beach volleyball kat situ than sports where malaysians were involved, kah kah kah.

azalina adlh mimpi buruk sukan di malaysia....

hancur lebur...tp nasib baik dia dikelilingi org yg ok..walaupun ramai jugak yg tak ok...

claim pungutan pingat terbanyak di manila dan korat + melbourne....tp kurang kualiti...

bab first class treatment ni pulak..siapalah yg cadang agaknya ni....

nilah malaysia....semua nak mewah tapi hasil haprak...buatlah yg baik dulu...

cthnya buat mcm nicol..tunjuk result...tp bab nicol ni pun exeptional sebenrnya...squasy bukanlah sukan utama dunia..tak de dl olimpik pun...

Exactly, first class treatment, third class performance. In every sense of the word, which includes the previous sports minister. Kuah Kuah Kuah!!

Saudara Rizal,

Izinkan saya menulis sajak ini di laman web saudara yang bernas lagi infomatif.

Inilah kisah,
Akhbar The Malay Mail,
Dulunya gah perkasa,
Mampu menampung segalanya.

Namun The Malay Mail,
Asyik dipinggirkan,
Di anak-tirikan,
Serta di cacikan.

Tatkala ada kisah mamat hip hop,
Dengan Laksaman Mat Salleh-nya,
Kononnya mampu mengubah segalanya.
Namun hanya kejadah jadinya.

Mamat hip hop sekarang mengamati hidup hiburan,
Laksamana Mat Salleh-nya entah ke mana,
Yang masih terpinggir wahai si Malay Mail,
Sekarang pula jatuh ke tangan dinosor NST.

Bagaikan lilin membakar yang hampir padam,
Ingatkan dinosor NST mampu menerangi wajah Malay Mail,
Namun..bukan saja warga lamanya meletak jawatan,
Sampai lampu kat opis pun asyik terpadam!

Inilah rikwayat The Malay Mail,
Kuasa yang gah suatu masa dulu,
Kini ianya bagaikan mimpi ngeri,
Terima kasih kepada bos baru yang tidak kenal budi pekerti.

Hanya dengan keizinan Tuhan Yang Maha Kuasa sajalah yang mampu mengubah segalanya.

Terima kasih saudara Rizal. Semoga kita berjumpa lagi.

Sdr Rizal
Since you may not be aware, the city of Athens did not have enough rooms to meet the demand of the Olympic Games. Five cruise were used as floating hotels and the VIP did stay in one of the cruise...which was the best the Queen Mary. I am made to understand another VIP from Malaysia also stayed there..the Sultan of Perak. Security was a top priority and most official delegations stayed at this 5 star floating hotel. In fact the US basketball team also stayed there. In the interest of fairness to the VIP some implied negative referance need to be corrected.
