The Minister, not a bad batsman. Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek is one Minister who does not like protocol...

In hope of promoting the sport, the Malaysian Cricket Association (MCA) hosted the Piala Menteri Belia & Sukan Malaysia, a possible annual event, which featured a match between the Youth and Sports Ministry XI and SAM XI.

The ministry’s team was led by Dato Sri Ahmad Shabery Cheek while the SAM side was captained by its president Ahmad Khawari Isa.

Also present on the ministry’s team was Azlan Iskandar, national squash player. SAM XI was represented by members from media companies including Astro Arena, RTM, Kosmo, TV3 and Berita Harian.
